Before beginning in words of Ilchi Lee, have children tap their fingertips gently on their lower abdomen, just below the belly button, to find their center of gravity. Remind them to focus on that point as they attempt to balance.
01. Stand with your feet together on the ground and your arms straight out to the side.
02. Slowly lift one leg as high as you can with your knee bent and your foot resting against the side of your other leg.
03. Hold the position for 10 counts. Switch legs and try again.
Later, attempt to hold for up to 30 seconds.
Airplane
01. Bend the body forward, placing the hands on the ground. Knees may be slightly bent.
02. Slowly lift your arms straight out to the side as you lift one of your legs straight back.
03. Slowly straighten the balancing leg. Keep your body bent forward at a 90-degree angle, your arms out to the side, and the other leg straight out. Hold for 10 counts.
