			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I have been teaching Brain Wave Vibration for years. Previously, I called it Jin-dong, which literally means &#8220;vibration exercise.&#8221; The purpose of this training was to open the energy system of the body for improved health. In those days, the focus was on the flow of energy through the body in the more conventional sense of traditional Asian medicine. Through the years, how¬ever, I have come to realize the role of the brain in this process. Thus, the name for this training is now Noe-pa-jin-doncj, the word noepa meaning &#8220;brain wave.&#8221; The brain orchestrates our bodily functions, and it is through the brain that we make the choices that determine the quality of our life experience. As my understanding has increased, I have come to see that the brain is the key to mental and physical health.</p>
<p>My initial interest was to create health through the enhanced flow of energy in the body. I began simply by teaching stretching exercises in a park. At first, only one person came a man who had suffered a stroke. I worked with him to stretch his body and to open the meridians that carry energy through his body. Over time, he gained more and more movement, attaining a remark¬able degree of recovery.</p>

The brain stem wants to create balance between the sympathetic nervous system, which produces the stress response, and the parasympathetic nervous system, which is in charge of the rest-and-digest response. When our bodies are kept in a constant state of imbalance, disease is the likely result.</p>
<p>The part we have control over is the prefrontal cortex, the thinking part of the brain. To put it simply, people today think too much. The thinking brain is constantly sending messages that keep our bodies in a state of alarm, and they never have ample time to recover. The trick is to quiet the thinking mind and gain control over the content it produces so that the brain stem has a chance to coordinate the equilibrium that it exists to create.</p>
<p>As you begin to practice Brain Wave Vibration, notice the kinds of stories you have been telling yourself. Think of the manifestations of stress in your life and try to discover their root. Maybe they show themselves physically through headaches, muscle tension, or even disease, or mentally through bad habits like nail-biting, mood swings, or overeating. Ask yourself what kind of mental story is connected to these manifestations&#8211; &#8211; stories about your own insecurities, the shortcomings of other people, and the inadequacies of the world around you. When you can stop telling yourself the same negative stories over and over again, you will be able to face the challenges of your life with strength and courage.</p>

Brain Wave Vibration, by quieting the thinking mind, allows you, at least for a few moments, to tap into the greater rhythm and flow of the universe as a whole.</p>
<p>LLTIMATELY, YOU CAN DO the training in any number of different postures, and you can create your own postures as you learn to follow the flow of energy and the needs of your body. You can do the training with or without music, but you may find that music with a strong basic rhythm will help you get into the natural rhythms of your own body more quickly. The most important point is to just enjoy yourself and to let your thinking mind drift away.</p>
<p>These postures are the most basic forms of Brain Wave Vibration, and I recommend that you follow* them in the beginning. After that, you can start improvising according to the dictates of your bodily needs. Immediately following this chapter you will find some variations that many students have found particularly useful.</p>

<p>The same environmental conditions that make it difficult to focus also weaken memory skill. Messages and images are constantly flashed before our eyes—in magazines, on billboards, on television, and through the Internet. This constant shower of information makes it very difficult to concentrate and focus solidly. If the brain cannot focus properly on a given task or piece of information, it is unlikely to remember that thing well. Essentially, if the brain cannot easily decide what is worth remembering, much information will be lost.</p>
<p>Furthermore, our memory ability is rarely engaged in today&#8217;s world. Phone numbers are stored on speed dial, and facts are readily available on the Internet. There is little incentive to remember items that can be easily stored on technological gadgetry. To make up for this deficit, it is important to purposely challenge the memory to keep it sharp.</p>

<p>01.  Begin by having your partner lie comfortably facedown on the floor. Sit down near your partner. You are the &#8220;chef&#8221; and your partner is the pizza. Before you begin, pretend to wash your hands by briskly rubbing them together until they are warm.</p>
<p>02.  Begin by &#8220;kneading the dough,&#8221; massaging your partner&#8217;s back and shoulder muscles. Try to use the full hand, without pinching with the fingers.</p>
<p>03.  Now pat the dough down with your palms. Cup your hands slightly, patting but not slapping.</p>
<p>04.  Sweep your palms on the back to spread the pizza sauce.</p>
<p>05.  Then chop the vegetables with the sides of your hands. You can make a fist with your thumbs tucked in or keep your fingers straight.</p>
<p>06.  Sprinkle on cheese, tapping your partner with your fingertips.</p>

<p>02.  Close your eyes and feel the natural rhythm of your breath. Feel your chest gently rising and falling. Let your body relax more and more deeply with each breath.</p>
<p>03.  Once your body is fully relaxed, focus on bringing the breath down to the abdomen as your buddy rides up and down. Avoid straining or forcing your abdominal muscles. Continue for at least 5 minutes.</p>

The important thing is for us to believe in ourselves. It is for us to express that belief through our healing actions, eventually changing society and the world. This is the highest evidence of enlightenment there is. Because enlightenment is a deeply personal and abstract concept, how else would you prove your enlightenment except through healing actions?</p>
<p>We have come to the Earth to perfect and complete the journey of our souls. The only way to do that is by healing, in every sense of the word. To heal, we need to awaken to the reservoir of enlightenment within us, and use this enlightenment to guide us in making choices.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.ilchileeblog.com/ilchi-lee/">Prof Ilchi Lee</a> tells that I believe that we need at least 100 million healers in this world within ten years. No, we need them in even less time than that. These 100 million healers will constitute a critical mass that will change the destiny of the Earth.
