Dahn Yoga is founded by Ilchi Lee after his great research. Five babies are born on the Earth every second. Half of them die before they reach the age of five. Even if they survive, life for most of them will be a series of hardships, with anxiety and fear dogging their every step. How was your birth? Your life thereafter? Do you think your birth was a blessing? If so, what are your reasons?
What about death, then? Do you think death is a blessing also? If you think that death is a misfortune, then how can you consider the event that eventually leads to death a blessing? If there were no birth, there would be no death. Our brains cells start to die off as soon as we take our first lungful of air. Aging and dying start as soon as we are born. Ironically, we consider death a great misfortune, but regard birth, the prerequisite event, to be a great blessing.
This does not mean that you have to feel scorn or resentment for your old sense of self. Do you feel angry at the clothes you threw away as a kid because they no longer fit? No, those clothes protected you and served their role well when they still fit you. It’s just that you don’t need those clothes anymore because you have grown up. It is perfectly natural to discard the clothes that don’t fit because you grew out of them. It is unnatural to insist on wearing children’s clothing when you are an adult. In the same manner, becoming an Earth-Human does not mean you throw away anything nor does it mean that you become something entirely new. Becoming an Earth-Human merely means that you come into your natural self.
To Earth, humanity is not everything. If humans were to disappear tomorrow, there are countless life forms that would gladly continue to inhabit Earth. Earth has her own life to maintain and keep. When Earth feels that She is being put into serious danger, She will have to make a choice to protect Herself, for the beauty and richness of Earth is far too precious to the cosmos for it to be destroyed by the self-destructive tendencies of a race of glorified monkeys. We have to recognize we are part of the life of Earth. Earth is not ours to do with as we please. We are Hers. We belong to Her. To Earth, we are all Earth-Humans, regardless of color, religious beliefs, or citizenship. To Earth, we are just another addition to the incredible array of life forms on Her land, in an endless cycle of biodiversity. To Earth, there is absolutely no reason why one religion or one people is better than another. To Earth, there are no chosen people.
